The public is invited to meet the North Central Missouri College sports teams during a “Meet the Pirates Night” on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the Ketcham Community Center.

The NCMC Pirates Booster Club is hosting the event, which will include an introduction of the men’s and women’s basketball teams, the men’s and women’s golf teams, the men’s baseball team, the women’s softball team, members of DanceWave (the college dance troop) and members of the NCMC eSports team. Events are scheduled to get under way at 6 pm with a “free” pizza party, with pizza being offered to those attending the event until it’s gone. There will be a 2-piece limit to assure there is plenty of food to go around. The Booster Club will be selling drinks as well.

Introductions of teams will begin at 6:30 pm, with games for the kids and organized by the NCMC teams being interspersed throughout the evening. Each child who attends will be given a ticket, which will be used to select the participants in the games. Prizes donated by local merchants and NCMC will be presented to the participants. The Dance Wave is scheduled to perform just prior to the final activity of the evening – a 10 to 15 minute scrimmage by both the men’s and women’s basketball teams.

Although admission to the Meet the Pirates Night is free, the Booster Club is suggesting those who attend donate non-perishable food item for the NCMC Student Food Pantry.

The Booster Club will also have a table set up for persons wanting to purchase a membership. Membership levels are $50, $100 and $150 for individuals/families. There are also corporate memberships available.

For more information, persons can contact Nate Gamet at the Ketcham Community Center.
