A hearing will be held at the Trenton R-IX District Office on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 5:25 PM, in Trenton, Missouri, at which time citizens may be heard on the property tax rates proposed to be set by the Trenton R-IX School District, a political subdivision. The proposed tax rates (per $100 assessed valuation) are: Incidental Fund—$3.6290 (prior year $3.6049 adjusted from $3.5811 by the State Auditors Office) and Debt Service—$0.9000 (prior year $0.9000), for a total proposed tax rate of $4.5290 (prior year $4.5049). The tax rates are set to produce the revenues from the property tax required by the District’s budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026; each tax rate is determined by dividing the amount of revenue needed by the current assessed valuation and multiplying the result by 100 so the rate is expressed in cents per $100 valuation. Based on the most accurate information provided by the County Clerks at the time of posting, the estimated assessed valuation is $93,557,304 for the current year (2026) compared to $90,460,880 for the prior year (2025). With the proposed rates, total property tax revenue budgeted (assuming 100% collection) is $4,237,210 compared to $4,075,172 calculated from the prior year, for total new revenue of $134,170, including $53,190 from new construction and improvements and $80,980 from reassessment (2.48% of the new revenue). Estimates reflect the most accurate information provided by the County Clerks at the time of this posting; figures are based on information available as of Friday, August 1, 2026 and may change by the Tax Rate Hearing, and the Board of Education may make changes until September 1, 2026.
