Bulldog Bark: PAT, Playgroup, Family Night
Trenton R-IX school district provides Parents As Teachers (PAT) services for children prenatal through kindergarten age. The purpose of the program is to encourage and empower parents to be their child's first and most important teacher. The program offers educational services with certified educators that come into your home, free of charge, to those residing in the Trenton R-IX District. The PAT educators guide parents in making goals for their child, assess their developmental milestones and provide early intervention strategies. PAT also provides parent-child activities through Story Hour, Family Night and Playgroup to encourage interaction with other PAT families. These events are organized and held on preschool grounds and other locations such as the local library or Crowder State Park.
Trenton R-IX Preschool staff and PAT staff partner together to host playgroup at the Trenton R-IX Preschool. All children birth to age 5 (before entering kindergarten) are welcome to attend. Children must be accompanied by an adult. This can be a parent, grandparent, daycare provider, or family friend. This is a great opportunity to spend time with your child and interact with them in the preschool setting. If your child attends Trenton R-IX Preschool, they will not have classes on playgroup days and no bus transportation will be provided. Our next playgroup will be held Friday, December 6 from 8:00-9:30 A.M at the Trenton R-IX Preschool.
Trenton R-IX Preschool staff and PAT staff also partner together to host family nights during the school year. Family nights are for you and your family to engage in educational play together. Students are required to be accompanied by an adult. Our next Family Night will be held Thursday, November 14, from 5:30-6:30 P.M. at Rissler Elementary cafeteria. There will be a variety of fall related activities such as a scarecrow craft, pumpkin play-doh, and a photo booth. We encourage you to bring your entire family to join in the fun!
