The C.F. Russell Stadium concession stand coming down as the early stages of the new concession stand project begin. The concession stand was originally located next to the covered stands, and was moved to the southwest corner of the complex in 2008 when the field was renovated and the all-purpose track was installed. The crane and drill that has been set up at the PAC site for the last week has a very important job that is critical to the foundation of the new structure. The drill will get to depths as much as 65 feet to test and ultimately pour piers that will stabilize the foundation and load-bearing elements of the PAC. READ MORE >

The location of the new PAC is easy to spot from the THS parking lot, just between the commons and the music building. The structure will rise over 30 feet into the air, and create a new 'view' for all those who park and enter through the high school rear entrance. The new concession stand at CF Russell Stadium has a shape! The footings and first row of block have been put down, and the location and dimensions are easy to spot now. The new building will have concession area (front), men's and women's restrooms (back right corner), and two storage areas (front right and back left corners). READ MORE >

The groundwork for the PAC is almost done. The footings, foundation, and drainage are all in the final stages - and when complete, the structure can start to rise! Pictured above is the termination point for the storm and roof drains, over 100 yards from the PAC site. READ MORE >

With the addition of the new PAC, the high school campus will be getting various bonus projects during construction. One of these is a new courtyard area just outside the PAC that will fit nicely right outside the high school commons. The first signs of the construction project rising from the ground are now visible outside the existing Vo-Ag building. The steel frame for the vestibule and hallway are being erected this week, after a pause for the snow and ice the last 10 days. READ MORE >

The precast concrete walls that from the main hall of the PAC have arrived, are are being installed. Each wall and roof panel can weigh up to 81,000 pounds. The large crane assembled on-site can easily pick up and set the panels in place. READ MORE >

The Precast concrete walls of the PAC are standing tall as the final few pieces are set to be installed in the next few days. The engraved "T" in the center of the south wall will be a welcoming sight to all those who enjoy the PAC in the future. The three new corridors that provide inside access to the PAC, Ag/Art Building, and the Music Building are going up fast! Pictured here is the Ag/Art Corridor that runs from the new vestibule to the corner of the Music Building, where it meets up with the other two corridors. READ MORE >

Work on the interior of the PAC has begun, and one of the first pieces to be installed was the catwalk. It is suspended 30 feet in the air, about half way between the stage and the rear of the center. It allows for access to lighting and sound components for productions (and a pretty good view). The new C.F. Russell Stadium concession stand is nearly done, with just a few finishing touches to complete. It will have two full-service food windows, a baked potato window, two storage rooms, and heated restrooms. READ MORE >

Construction progress in the Rissler office and HS-MS Media Center is moving at a rapid pace. In the picture above, a new administrative office is added to the existing foyer - and a wall removed in the HS-MS Media Center to allow for an expansion and new entrance from the HS hallway. READ MORE >

The concrete floor inside the new PAC is being poured. The picture above is the area of the first and second row near the front of the stage. This is the lower section of seating, and there is also an upper section near the rear of the PAC. The main entrance to the new PAC will be from the HS commons area (replacing the windows that used to overlook the grass courtyard) . It will have doors on each side, with adjoining vestibules to help with unwanted sound and light entering the performance area. To start the new school year, 2 of the 3 new corridors that connect the PAC, Music Building, and AG-Art Building to the High School and Middle School campus are open for student traffic. The last corridor to open will be finished along with the PAC. READ MORE >

The Sound Booth in the new PAC has a face now! The opening is just above the point where the last row of seating will be in the mezzanine section. From here, the sound, lighting, and effects will be monitored during a performance. You can also see the door to enter the sound booth in the picture. READ MORE >

September 25th marks the one year anniversary of the day that ground was broken for the PAC project! A lot has happened in 12 months, with more to come. Pictured above is the front of the new PAC, AG Corridor, and HS Corridor. One bonus of the current construction project is the courtyard that was created by putting the PAC in it's current location. The courtyard is now complete, and the benches and tables are installed. A few of the "Clouds" in the PAC have been installed. These clouds hang from the exposed ceiling of the building and improve sound, lighting, and aesthetics in the theater. In the above picture, the clouds hang high over the rear of the PAC, with the sound booth underneath. READ MORE >
The newly remodeled HS/MS Library Media Center recently had one of the final touches installed. The Bulldog logo that welcomes students to the LMC from the high school side is over 6 feet in diameter, and comprised of laser-cut tile. Go Bulldogs!! READ MORE >

As work continues in the PAC, it is becoming more and more apparent how the theater will look, sound, and feel upon completion. Pictured above is the Proscenium, which is the opening of the stage in front of the curtain. Just above the Proscenium Arch are the main theater speakers, and just above those is cloud number six. The last pour of concrete in the new PAC went in the mezzanine section of seating. There are three sections of stadium style seating (Left-Center-Right) in the rear of the PAC, with a total of 160 seats. The concrete steps were formed with foam inserts, and the concrete was put over the top to create the shape you see in the picture above. READ MORE >

The theater rigging system is currently being installed in the new PAC! Stage rigging is used to hang curtains, scenes, backdrops, lights, and other options behind the main stage. These vital pieces can be altered, moved in and out, and suspended - depending on the performance. READ MORE >

The first set of seats were placed in the PAC over the holiday break. The placement of seats will continue over the next week. There will 521 seats total in the PAC - 361 in the lower level, and 160 in the mezzanine. READ MORE >

The stage floor in the PAC was put into place over the last week. The floor is three layers of wood, built with rails that include rubber bumpers to give the floor cushion. The wood sections can be replaced over time for repair and/or maintenance. READ MORE >

The maple wood columns have been added to the front (HS Commons) entrance to the new PAC. The entrance will be an eye-catching locale on the High School campus, that brings elements, design, and color from inside the PAC to the facade. READ MORE >
