“I got a master’s degree in education from Truman State University. Since then, I have taught middle and high school English in several districts, including Moberly and Jamesport. I’m glad to be back home!”

“I am most excited about meeting the students and seeing what creative ideas they come up with!”

Who or what inspired you to become a teacher?
“I had several people influence my decision to become an educator and counselor. For example, my coaches and a few teachers always encouraged me to continue to push myself to be better and my parents for believing I could. As I grew older, I remembered some classmates didn't have that encouragement of support from home or at school for whatever the reasons though they could have been just as good or better than those that had the encouragement. I always wanted to give back and also reach those who get left behind.”
Tell us about your path to a career in education:
“I always wanted to teach. Even when I was little, I always got to be the teacher when playing with my friends. (Ok, I might have told them if I did not get to be the teacher I wouldn't play.) When I was in high school, I was a lifeguard for three years. Teaching kids and adults how to swim and watching them apply what I taught them for successful swimming confirmed in my mind that I wanted to teach on a regular basis. At my previous school, I started an at-risk program; however, I was given so many classes to teach that I only had one hour to work with those that needed extra encouragement and patience. In order to have more time to work with those needing someone to believe in them, I decided to earn a second master's degree in school counseling with licensure and have been a counselor ever since.”
What are you the most excited about or looking forward to this year?
“I am excited to have been given the opportunity to join the Trenton R9 team and am looking forward to getting to know all the students, coworkers, and community!”

“I started my education career as a paraprofessional at Trenton High School for two and a half years. After that I taught second grade at Rissler for two years. I then went to Hamilton (Penney High School) and taught second grade one year and fifth grade for two years while also coaching high school volleyball. I am excited to finally be back at Trenton and teaching high school science and coaching volleyball.”
What are you the most excited about or looking forward to this year?
“I’m excited to teach a subject I love and work with such a great group of hard working volleyball players!”

Who or what inspired you to become a teacher?
"My mother is my inspiration to become a counselor. My mother was a Family and Consumer Science (FACS) teacher and then transitioned to a high school counselor. She was a teacher and counselor for a combined 37 years. In addition to my mother, I come from a long line of teachers!"
Tell us about your path to a career in education:
"This is my 10th year as a counselor. I earned my bachelor's degree in elementary education from College of the Ozarks outside of Branson and my master's degree from Evangel University in Springfield. I worked eight years as a high school counselor in a school outside of Branson and last year as an elementary counselor at South Harrison in Bethany. "
What are you the most excited about or looking forward to this year?
"I am excited to have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the students here at Rissler Elementary and in the community of Trenton!"

“I am in my twelfth year of teaching. I received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Culver-Stockton College. I taught for two years at Knox County, five years at Sweet Springs, four years at Bowling Green, and now I am at Trenton.”
What are you the most excited about or looking forward to this year?
“I am most excited about representing the band, school, and community at competitions and games.”

“This is my seventh year teaching. I spent the last six years at Bucklin R-2. I taught 4th, 5th, and 6th grade science and social students for four years, and I taught 7th-12th grade history for the last two years.”

“I am most excited to work with fifth grade students again! I am looking forward to building new relationships with my students!”

“This is my twelfth year teaching. My previous 11 years were with the St. Joseph School District. I have taught first, second, and third grades as well as reading intervention.”
What are you the most excited about or looking forward to this year?
“I look forward to getting to know and working with the Trenton community. I'm excited about the next chapter of my life!”

“I worked at a juvenile center for several years before going back to school to get my teaching certification. This will be my fifth year of teaching, and I couldn’t be more excited about my change in careers!”

“I taught music at Newtown-Harris for one year as their PK-12 music teacher.”

“I am so excited to start bringing instruments out of the cabinets and start playing!”

“I have known since I was a young girl that I was made to work with at-risk children. In the past, I have worked with the Trenton R-9 School District through children’s division using my social work degree.”
Tell us about your path to a career in education:
“I received a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, and after 18 years in the social work field, I returned to school and attended Graceland University to complete a degree in elementary education. Unfortunately, due to life events, I couldn’t finish the student teaching portion of the degree. I have worked at NCMC for the past 11 years as a Student Support Services Academic Advisor and Tutor Coordinator. I am currently working on DESE certification.”
What are you the most excited about or looking forward to this year?
“I’m looking forward to meeting new students and the challenges that may come.”

“I completed my Associate of Arts in Elementary Education at NCMC, transferred to Northwest Missouri State University for a year and decided to move home to be closer to family. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education over the summer. For the last year and a half, I was a paraprofessional in preschool with Mrs. Cara Leininger.”
What are you the most excited about or looking forward to this year?
“I am excited to meet my students this year and work with my awesome first grade team!”

The Trenton R-9 Mascot team represented Trenton R-9 in the Missouri Day Parade on Saturday October 20th. The mascots walked the parade route while shaking hands and passing out goodies. The district is pleased that the mascots participated in the Missouri Day's Festivities.
Congratulations to the softball team on their victory over the Holden Eagles on Saturday. This victory allows the team to play in the state tournament on Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27. To accommodate the students, faculty and fans who would like to attend the game, the Trenton R-IX School District will not be in session on Friday, October 26. (This includes pre-school and the Success Center.)
The Bright Futures Breakfast, scheduled for Friday, October 26, will go on as planned in the THS gym. (7:00 am to 8:00 am)
The staff at S.M. Rissler are attempting to reschedule the 4th grade trip to Shatto Dairy and the Kindergarten Fun Day to Crowder. Announcements will be made in future about the rescheduled times of these events.
